rontin’ – fresh funding for Pharrell-backed luxury eCommerce brand L’ArcoBaleno
Germany-based luxury eCommerce site L’ArcoBaleno has announced a seven-figure Series A funding round led by Holtzbrinck Ventures. DN Capital, Otto Capital BV and Novel TMT Ventures also contributed to the round, along with angel investors Carmen Busquets, Frederic Court and Christophe Maire. The exact amount was not named.
L’ArcoBaleno was founded by Ambra Medda, the former director of limited-edition design fair Design Miami, and former eBay executive Oliver Weyergraf. Launched on 19 June this year, the startup now has a base in New York and Berlin. L’ArcoBaleno sells designers products and high-end furniture and home wares – from electric bikes to lighting and coffee table books – fittingly hosted on a beautifully designed website. It offers a concierge service to make sure delicate items make their way to customers’ homes in one piece.
Medda has amassed an impressive network of connections and has attracted a number of big names to her startup’s advisory board. Alongside gallery owners and designers, she counts (surprisingly) rapper Pharrell Williams as one of her confidants.
